QSA / DofE Supported Expedition – August 2012
Do you need to complete the Expedition section of your Queen’s Scout Award and/or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and feel you need support? If yes, here is your golden opportunity.
Starting in April the County will be running expedition support sessions to help you prepare your route and complete the necessary training so you’re ready to complete the four day challenge.

MAC 2012
31st March & 1st April 2012
The MAC is a 2 day mountain backpacking event in Cumbria open to Explorer Scouts, Scout Network members and Leaders.
Three levels of route from easy, carrying no over night equipment, to tramping the high fells carrying everything you need for the 2 days.
Teams of 4 to 6 people and costs £8 per person

WEST LANCASHIRE SCOUTS MOUNTAINEERING GROUP
SNOW & ICE 2012 CAIRNGORMS 14th February to 19th February 2012 (February Half-Term) |

OBJECTIVE This event is open to all Explorer Scouts (15+), Scout Network and Leaders from all Sections within the County. For the younger members, they’ll get to learn the basic skills and experience Scottish Winters with overnights out in the wilds and the social crack on a residential. For older members, there’ll be opportunities to develop your skills to be self sufficient in the mountains, understand the risks and grow experience in a controlled environment. Those with more experience will be able to hone their skills further, obtain permits and in so doing benefit scouting within West Lancashire.
